Many thanks for making the flea market such a success. The feedback I’ve heard from you was that you all did well and want to come back again. That’s great news.
We plan to make next month’s flea market better by selling refreshments and adding a few more vendors. We are going to increase our advertising and we are looking at adding another flea market in September. More details to follow.
To make the flea market better, we need to make a few adjustments, starting with our parking. We have to be disciplined in our parking to maximize the selling space so we can add vendors. Sharing one space with someone is fine, but we are limited to one car per space. The sharing person can park their car in the far corner of the lot with the volunteers supporting the event. We will also get more volunteers to help customers with parking.

FYI – All proceeds from the flea market go to the maintenance of the Mount Vernon lodge.
Taxes: We are a 501(c)(10) fraternal organization, therefore, donations to the Lodge for the repairs, maintenance, purchasing aprons, and jewels, etc., are not be tax deductible. However, donations to the Lodge for 501(c)(3) purposes, such as, “such contribution or gift is to be used exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes, or for the prevention of cruelty to children or animals,” are tax deductible.
